 STRAW WAFERS:                          

                                        

  Scientists at Harwell in Oxfordshire  

  have developed a machine for making   

  compressed straw wafers in the field. 

  It can turn out six tonnes an hour at 

  around £25 per tonne. The wafers can  

  be used for heating systems or used as

  cattle feed.
