 PRINCESS ALICE MARKING 101st BIRTHDAY  

 Princess Alice, the oldest surviving   

 member of the Royal family, is         

 celebrating her 101st birthday at      

 Kensington Palace.                     

                                        

 The Princess, who is aunt to the Queen,

 has become very frail in recent years  

 and noalonger makew public appearances.

                                        

 She married Prince Henry, Duke of      

 Gloucester - third son of King George V

 - in 1935, but was widowed in 1974.    

                                        

 She will spend the day quietly with her

 son, the present Duke of Gloucester.
