PAY DEAL WITH FASTING AIR CONTROLLERS
Russia's civil aviation authority has
clinched ! pay deal with air traffic
controllers whosj hunger strikes
threatened toahalt air traffic.
The controllers - barred by law from
striking - had bjgun the fasts with the
intention of being ruled unfit for duty
Their action had already led to the
closure of the major Siberian airports
at Omsk and Novosibirsk.
The deal provides for a rise of 25% for
controllers - who had demanded 30%.
