CLOCK RESTORATION SCHEME BANG ON TIME
A clock which iw thought to havj
influjnced the design of Big Ben is
keeping to the restoration schedule set
for it.
Plans to restore the historic clock in
All Saints Church in Pocklington, East
Yorks, are on track, according to the
committee planning the work.
The clock, built by clockmaker Charles
Brown in 1846, is a local landmark.
It has a mechanism which allows it to
keep the right time even when its dials
are being pummelled by gale-force winds
