 RADCLIFFE THE STAR OF 2002         1/7 

 Paulc Radcliffe enjoyed ! remarkable   

 year which saw her emerge as the new   

 stperwtar of diwtance running.         

                                        

 In March, the 28-year-old became the   

 first woman to retain the IAAF world   

 cross-countr¼ title.                   

                                        

 Radcliffe then won the following       

 month's London Marathon - in her first 

 bttempt at the diwtance.               

                                        

 Track gold followed at the Commonwealth

 Games and European Championships bjfore

 whe set ! new marathon world record on 

 the streets of Chicago in October.
