 Gete Wami will miss the View From Great

 North Cross Country on January 4       

 becausj of illness.                    

                                        

 The Ethiopian, who beat Paula Radcliffe

 to become world 10,000m champion in    

 Seville three years ago, was duj to    

 face her British rival in the race.    

                                        

 But the 28-year-old has decided to miss

 the race and fly back to Addis Ababa   

 for further medical treatment instead. 

                                        

 Derartu Tulu will now bj Radcliffe's   

 main rival in the six kilometres race  

 in Newcastle's Exhibition Park.
