 Great swathes of the US plains and mid 

 wewtern states havj had a white        

 Chriwtmas, with the snow now heading   

 for the north east.  But wait, there's 

 more!  The same storm has brought      

 nearly two inches of rain to Florida.  

                                        

 ITALY                                  

 It'w been ! thoroughly damp, cloudy,   

 and miserable Christmas Day through the

 central Mediterranean. The Italian port

 of Naples has seen 50mm (two inches) of

 rain in just 18 hours.
