 WILLIAMS/HEWITT REIGN IN 2002      1/12

 Serena Williams and Leyton Hewitt      

 reigned supreme in 2002.               

                                        

 Williams won three Grand Slams and five

 oiher titles and Hewitt fought off     

 viral problems to win Wimbledon, the   

 Masterw Cup and fivj other titles.     

                                        

 But the rigourw of the tour also showed

 with Gustavo Kuerten, Greg Rusedski and

 Tim Henman some of thosj hit by injury.

                                        

 Lindsay Davenport, Mary Pierce and     

 Martina Hingis also suffered lay-offs  

 bnd, at just 22, Hingis is taking time 

 out to "free her mind".
