 MAXWELL PENSIONS DEAL REACHED          

                                        

 Pension trustees have reached a £276m  

 settlement over funds plundered from   

 Robert Maxwell's old business empire.  

                                        

 The Law Debenture Trust Corp, trustees 

 of one of the main Maxwell pension     

 schemes, said the deal had been reached

 with Maxwell Communication Corp.       

                                        

 A spokesman said: "This ends a long    

 period of uncertainty and reduces the  

 need for further time-consuming action"
