 Jane Down won customers for her        

 compost business by carrying buckets of

 the pungent mixture to garden centres  

 around Somerset.                       

                                        

 She mixed and turned the manure herself

 as she still does today. Most weeks she

 fills and dispatches 1,000 bags.       

                                        

 "It's a 12-hour day, seven days a week 

 job," Jane says. "And after the        

 physical work is over, I have to sit   

 down and do the accounts."
