 OXFORD TO SCRAP ENTRANCE EXAM          

                                        

 The University of Oxford has decided to

 abolish its special entrance exam,     

 which allegedly favoured independent   

 school candidates.                     

                                        

 Until now, sixth-formers had the option

 of taking two or three special papers  

 instead of relying on A level results. 

                                        

 It was believed that the system        

 favoured pupils from independent       

 schools which were able to organise    

 special coaching for the exam.
