 CHANCELLOR SETS OUT EU TERMS           

                                        

 The Chancellor has set out the factors 

 that Britain would consider before     

 joining a single currency - in addition

 to those in the Maastricht Treaty.     

                                        

 Kenneth Clarke said that "deep-seated  

 structural differences" in Europe's    

 economies would have to be addressed.  

                                        

 Trade balances, unit labour costs and  

 the integration of markets would all   

 have to be considered, he revealed.
