 German shares ended steady at higher   

 levels with the support of firm futures

                                        

 Dealers said some foreign buyers were  

 stepping up activity but the market was

 cautious ahead of US economic figures. 

                                        

 Deutsche Babcock climbed on news that  

 the engineering group plans to resume  

 dividend payments and foreign interest 

 boosted Siemens.
