  The Government's transitional relief  

  scheme gives a £10,000 index loss     

  allowance on disposals made between   

  November 1993 and April 5 1995.       

                                        

  This can be used to create or increase

  a loss of up to £10,000, as could be  

  done after 1985's changes.            

                                        

  Any relief not used by the end of this

  financial year cannot be carried over.
