 MORE DEAF STUDENTS                     

                                        

 More deaf students are enrolling in    

 higher education says a report from the

 Higher Education Funding Council for   

 England (HEFCE).                       

                                        

 Compared to 1990-91, when only 10 per  

 cent of institutions had more than ten 

 deaf students, 24 per cent of          

 institutions now have them.            

                                        

 HEFCE chief executive Graeme Davies    

 says: "Much remains to be done to allow

 students participate on an equal basis"
