 BREAKING THE SEX BARRIER ------------- 

                                        

 It was announced this week             

 that Diana Witts                       

 is to be the next General Secretary    

 of the Church Missionary Society       

 - the first woman to hold this role.   

 But it's not the first time            

 Diana has broken new ground like this: 

 in the 1970s she was Senior Mistress   

 at Gordonstoun School where she helped 

 bring in co-education there.           

 Last year she was honoured for work    

 in the war-torn country of Sudan.
