 THORN IN £17m SALE TO RACAL            

                                        

 Thorn EMI has added to a busy period of

 corporate deal-making by selling its   

 loss-making sensors business to Racal  

 Electronics for £17.5m.                

                                        

 Thorn recently bought most Dillons     

 bookstores from the collapsed Pentos   

 group soon after closing down its      

 Rumbelows High Street electrical chain.

                                        

 In the latest deal, Racal will merge   

 the business with its defence radar arm
