 --- TAX YEAR CHANGES ------------------

                                        

 Around 5.4m people will pay tax at 20%.

 Those on lower incomes can from now on 

 earn a total of £6,725 before paying   

 25% tax. Other changes include:        

                                        

 $ personal allowances for over-65s rise

   to £4,630 from £4,200, and the over- 

   75s get a new £4,800 allowance       

 $ capital gains tax allowance goes up  

   £200 to £6,000                       

 $ inheritance tax threshold increases  

   to £154,000 from £150,000.
