  Konya - Where the sect of the Whirling

  Dervishes was founded. The greatest   

  culture centre of Anatolia in the     

  12th and 13th Centuries.              

                                        

  Ankara - made capital of Turkey in    

  1923 by Ataturk. His limestone        

  Mausoleum dominates the modern part   

  of the city. 13th Century mosques,    

  Roman Baths, Temple of Augustus.
