 C&G MEMBERS ON THE BRINK               

                                        

 Up to 800,000 savers at the Cheltenham 

 and Gloucester Building Society are    

 awaiting a crunch vote on the proposed 

 £1.8bn takeover by Lloyds Bank.        

                                        

 They stand to gain up to £13,500 per   

 account if the deal is approved at a   

 special general meeting of the         

 society's members today.               

                                        

 Lloyds Bank shareholders have already  

 agreed to the proposed July takeover.
