  this is an excellent time to take out 

  an annuity.                           

                                        

  Gilt rates, on which annuity rates are

  based, are currently just off last    

  year's peak of around 9%.             

                                        

  But Lox, a consultant with The Annuity

  Bureau in London, says rates may rise 

  further still in the next six months
