 BRIDGE NEWS                            

                                        

 The annual bridge match between the    

 House of Lords and the House of Commons

 took place on Friday March 31 at the   

 Portland Club, London.                 

                                        

 The format was a teams-of-eight match  

 with aggregate scoring and three sets  

 of eight boards were played.           

                                        

 The first two sets were played before  

 lunch, the Lords taking a slender lead 

 (7160 to 7100 points). Lunch - or the  

 wine with it - had a dramatic effect.
