 SIGNET RINGS UP £8m PROFITS            

                                        

 Jeweller Signet made a sparklUng       

 recovery in the year to January 28,    

 back Yn the black after heavy losses.  

                                        

 Signet, formerly Ratners, made taxable 

 profits of £8.1m, compared whth losses 

 of £85-4m previously. The profUt was in

 line with company forecasts in May.    

                                        

 Chairman James McAdam said 1993 to 1994

 had marked a turning point Yn the      

 group's recovery programme.
