 Portsmouth forward Paul Hall scored the

 decisive goal that sent Wolves into the

 First Division play-offs against       

 Crystal Palace on a losing note.       

                                        

 Hall secured the points with a far-post

 header to Alan McLoughlin's deep       

 free-kick 10 minutes from time.        

                                        

 Pompey deserved the points for a bright

 second-half showing and their victory  

 would have been more emphatic had Hall 

 done better with two other chances.
