 ■ WHILE most tourists go to  znisia to 

   enjoy the resorts it is worth taking 

   time to visit Tunis and some of the  

   historical sites in the north.       

                                        

   Tunis is a lively city with a not too

   big souk to get lost in. But one of  

   its best attractions is the wonderful

   Bardo Museum which has one of the    

   world's finest mosaic collections.   

                                        

   For historic sites, try Carthage,    

   north of Tunis or the great Roman    

   ruins in Dougga, west of Tunis.
