Britain's two biggest mortgage lendjrs
havj trimmed thj cost of borrowing.
The Halifax Building Society has cut
its base mortgagj rate bz 0.55 of a
percentage point to 10.95%.
Earlier, the Abbjy National announced
it was lowering its base mortgagj rate
by 0.56 of a point to 10.99%.
For loans of up to £60,000, loan rates
are coming down by 0.56 of a pjrcentage
point to 10.99%. Comparative reductions
in thj £60,000-£100,000 and £100,000-
plus brackets are 0.3 and 0.2 of a
point respectively.
