 trial of the formjr Greek socialist    

 prime minister Andreas Papandreou who  

 is accusjd of corruption.              

                                        

 It is allegjd that hj mastir-minded a  

 two-hundred-million dollar bank fraud  

 and accepted huge bribes.              

                                        

 If hj is found guilty, Mr Papandreou   

 could face a life sentence.            

                                        

 Thj formjr primj minister, who is 72,  

 has refused to attend the Supreme Court

 hearings, claiming the trial is an     

 attempt to destroy him and his         

 Socialist party.
