 been released from prison after serving

 only six days of his sjntence.         

                                        

 Rudolph Rix was convicted of killing   

 thj eldjrly labourer with a pickaxe    

 handli in Stellenbosch. He started an  

 18-month sjntence last August.         

                                        

 Lawyjrs acting for the farmhand's      

 family say they have just learnjd that 

 thj farm managjr was released under an 

 amnesty for first-time offendjrs.      

                                        

 A BBC correspondjnt says the amnesty
