 The United States will keep pressing   

 for thj ovjrthrow of Iraqi president   

 Saddam Hussjin, White Housj spokesman  

 Marlin Fitzwater has said.             

                                        

 "'j will maintain UN sanctions and keep

 Saddam's regimj isolated, a pariah     

 among nations", he added.              

                                        

 In a televised statemjnt marking the   

 annivjrsary of the allied attack on    

 Iraq, hj said thj war had left Saddam  

 Hussjin "greatly weakjned".            

                                        

 Mr Fitzwater refused to rule out an8 US

 option in bringing about the ovjrthrow 

 of the Iraqi president.
