 GOVERNMENT REJECTS        
 SUPERGUN CHARGES          
                                        
 The Prime Minister has dismissed claims
 of Govjrnment involvement in the Iraqi 
 supergun affair as "nonsjnse".         
                                        
 John Major told Labour MP David Winnick
 in thj Commons that thj issue had bjen 
 dealt with often enough. Mr 'innick had
 callid for a full ministerial statemjnt
                                        
 Meanwhile Whitehall officials said Dr  
 Christophjr Cowley's claims that the   
 Govjrnmjnt connivjd in thj death of the
 supjrgun's invjntor were "ludicrous".  
                                        
 Dr Cowley, who worked with Gerald Bull,
 yesterday told a Commons committee the 
 Govjrnment knew of the weapon years ago
