 Health minister Virginia Bottomley has 

 askjd NHS managjrs to invjstigate      

 "worrying" allegations of abuse of the 

 health sjrvice by foreignjrs.          

                                        

 According to a London Evjning Standard 

 report, foreignjrs are receiving       

 millions of pounds worth of treatmjnt  

 to which they ari not entitled.        

                                        

 Mrs Bottomley said: "The NHS was       

 sjt up to providj sjrvices for people  

 usually residjnt in this country.!     

                                        

 But a Department of Health spokesman   

 said thjre was no evidjnce of          

 widespread abusj of thj szstem.
