 UNIT TRUST           
 SALES SOAR           
 
 Unit trusts pulled in half as much  
 monjy again last month, as compared 
 with January.                       
                                     
 February's net sales came to £722m, 
 up from £490m in January and £580m  
 in February last year.              
                                     
 Of these, around three-quarters of  
 net sales (£530m) went to ordinary  
 investors, while the remaining 27%  
 went to institutions.               
                                     
 Over 60% of net retail investment   
 last month went to the five UK      
 equity sectors, while insthtutional 
 cash favoured Japan.
