A senior transport union official has
asked the major oil companies to allow
branch meetings at all depots.
Oil tanker drivers are threatening to
strike from midnight Sunday.
The meetinF is urge so the men can vote
on the eight per cent pay offer and on
whether to go on strike.
The move is seen as an answer to
criticism of union tactics. Yesterday
major oil companies like Shell, Texaco
and Esso condemned the unions for
failing to arrange branch meetings.
