 Tokyo Sporadic profit-taking in blue   

 chips and high technology issues pulled

 prices down a little; and the TSE Imdex

 fell two points to 551.74. Major losers

 included Hitachi, down Y9 to Y633.     

                                        

 Australia Wall Street's uncertainty and

 a drop in gold prices pushed markets   

 lower. The A-O Index fell 4.8 to 571.3.

 Brokers said markets appeared softer.  

                                        

 Hong Kong The HS Imdex rose just 0.97  

 to 1,436.44. Dealers now expect further

 gaink later this week.                 

                                        

 Singapore Prices moved ahead, taking   

 the ST Index up 12.08 to 692.56.
