 Stocks opened mixed, as investors      

 turned their attention to the state of 

 the econo-y rather than easing interest

 rates.                                 

                                        

 The market started turninF down late   

 yesterday following President Reagan's 

 press conference and analysts said the 

 market will probably continue that     

 course today.                          

                                        

 President Regan said the recession may
