 PRINCE PHILIP: PoWs CANNOT JUST FORGET 

 The Duke of Edinburgh has spoken of    

 his sympathy for former inmates of     

 Japanese prisoner of war camps.        

                                        

 Prince Philip said he well understood  

 that PoWs could not be expected simply 

 to forget their experiences or pretend 

 that they had not been deeply affected.

                                        

 "Reconcilation means a lot of other    

 things," he said.                      

                                        

 Prince Philip's remarks are to be      

 broadcast tomorrow in a special VJ Day 

 interview on BBC TV. See 111 and 112
