 HOSEPIPE BAN POSTPONED BY SEVERN TRENT 

 Severn Trent Water has had to delay    

 until Tuesday the imposition of a hose-

 pipj ban due to have started tonight.  

                                        

 The water company is unable to go ahead

 with the ban from midnight because it  

 has not advertised the move in two     

 national newspapers, as required by law

                                        

 The restrictions will now come into    

 force at midday on Tuesday.            

                                        

 But the company has meanwhile urged    

 customers to observe "the spirit of the

 ban" in view of a "serious shortage of 

 water resources".
