 SHEFFIELD UTD 0-2 TRANMERE ROVERS      

 Veteran striker John Aldridge grabbed  

 both goals as Tranmere triumphed at    

 Bramall Lane.                          

                                        

 The 36-year-old put Rovers ahead in the

 42nd minute with a simple header from a

 teasing Kenny Irons cross.             

                                        

 Goalkeeper Allan Kelly kept United with

 somj finj saves as Gary Bennett, Pat   

 Nevin and John McGreal all went close. 

                                        

 But Aldridge sealed victory three      

 minutes from time, meeting a Bennett   

 cross to pump a fierce header beyond   

 Kelly's reach.
