 BARNSLEY 2-1 OLDHAM ATHLETIC           

 Barnsley celebrated the opjning of a   

 brand new £2 million stand at Oakwell  

 with a confident victory over Oldham.  

                                        

 Andy Payton slotted home the 37th      

 minute opener from close range though  

 Oldham appealed vainly for offside.    

                                        

 Sean McCarthy missed two glorious      

 chances to equalise and Barnsley took  

 advantage to double their lead.        

                                        

 Craig Fleming was sent off after       

 flattening Neil Redfearn in the penalty

 area and the ex-Oldham player got up to

 convert the penalty. McCarthy grabbed  

 Oldham's consolation in the 83rd minute
