 It's Timeform Day at Pontefract on     

 Tuesday when the programme includes the

 tenth running of the Phil Bull Trophy, 

 a race in honour of Timeform's founder.

                                        

 "Bull: The Biography", by Howard Wright

 of the Racing Post, is being published 

 on the same day and reveals how hugely 

 successful Bull was as a punter.       

                                        

 In thirty years as a professional he   

 took the bookies for the 1995          

 equivalent of over £4.5 million, his   

 run at one time including a sequence of

 only one losing year in seventeen.
