 Mikj Atherton is on the brink of a     

 record-equalling sixth Roses match     

 century but his side still set to lose 

 to Yorkshire at Old Trafford.          

                                        

 The England captain was unbeaten on 93 

 batting at number five and could equal 

 Clive Lloyd's Lancashire tally of six  

 Roses centuries.                       

                                        

 However despite Atherton's efforts his 

 side, who closed on 346-7, are only 79 

 ahead of their visitors.               

                                        

 John Crawley (58) and Jason Gallian    

 (33) shared a century stand for the    

 second wicket before Atherton took
