 Celtic's continental strike force      

 grabbed a goal apiece as Tommy Burns'  

 men swept aside Ayr.                   

                                        

 Andreas Thom fired home the opener on  

 his debut from Pierre Van Hooydonk's   

 header and the Dutchman knocked in the 

 second after rounding Billy Lamont.    

                                        

 John Collins finished things off with a

 65th minute penalty after a foul on    

 Phil O'Donnell but The Bhoys could have

 had a lot more.                        

                                        

 Peter Grant's 25-yard drive crashed off

 the bar while Lamont denied Rudi Vata, 

 Brian McLoughlin and Simon Donnelly.
