 enjoyed an excellent week at York's    

 Ebor meeting and followed up with      

 glory in Ripon's top race of the year. 

                                        

 His faithful six-year-old Double Blue  

 was driven to a 2½ lengths triumph by  

 Jason Weaver in the £20,000 William    

 Hill Great St Wilfrid's Handicap.      

                                        

 Favourite Top Banana finished third    

 after a troublesome run but connections

 failed in a post-race objection against

 the winner and runner-up Lennox Lewis. 

                                        

 Indeed the stewards considered that    

 move to be so frivolous that they fined

 jockjy Billy Newnes £55.
