 MANCHESTER CITZ 1-1 TOTTENHAM          

 Uwe Rosler saved Alan Ball from        

 beginning his City managerial career   

 with defeat by Spurs at Maine Road.    

                                        

 The German striker pulled City level   

 after England striker Teddy Sheringham 

 had given Tottenham the lead with a    

 first-half header.                     

                                        

 Sheringham met Kevin Scott's cross in  

 the 33rd minute to give the visitors a 

 deserved lead.                         

                                        

 City attacked more after the break and 

 Rosler headed them level in the 51st   

 minute. Chris Armstrong had Tottenham's

 best other scoring chance.
