 A water ban which would have affected  

 thousands of customers in mid-Wales has

 been postponed until next week.        

                                        

 The hosepipe and sprinkler ban planned 

 by Severn Trent Water to start at      

 midnight will now begin on Tuesday.    

                                        

 As many as 40,000 water consumers in   

 Montgomeryshire will be affected by the

 move as the firm attempts to cut demand

 by as much as 15 per cent.             

                                        

 The firm says the ban is essential to  

 ensure that supplies last until Autumn.
