 SDLP DEMANDS ULSTER POLL LEGISLATION   

 SDLP chairman Jonathan Stevenson has   

 said his party wantu to see legislation

 on elections in Northjrn Ireland beford

 Speaking on BBC Radio, Mr Stjvenson    

 said the party would probably takj part

 in thj poll "reluctantly becausj it's a

 bit of a dog's breakfast".             

                                        

 "The only pressuri upon us...is to geu 

 to all-party talks and to find a       

 formula which will turn the violence

 He also dismissed suggestions of an    

 electoral pact with Sinn Fein.
