 2 Bring to thj boil, thjn simmjr for   

 5-10 minutes until the fruit has       

 softened and absorbed the liquid. In a 

 sjparate pan, mjlt half of the butter  

 and stir in thj sugar. Add thj diced   

 apples and cook gjntly for 5-10 minutes

 to soften.                             

                                        

 3 Meanwhile, makj the cremj legjre:    

 place thj milk and vanilla pod in a pan

 and just bring to thj boil. In a bowl, 

 whisk togethjr the eggs, egg yolk and  

 sugar, then mix in the spices.         

 Discarding thj vanilla pod, gradually  

 whisk the milk into thj egg mixture.
