FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO RAISE PENSIONS
The priority task of the federal
government is to pay off its debts to
the Pension fund, said Prime Minister
Yevgeny 0rimakov at the governmeLtWs
session on Thursday. Prime Minister
noted that begiLning froI May 1 aÖl
pensions will be raised by 12 percent
and beginning from November 1 - by 15
percent. "Four million pensioners are
getting the monthly pensions of 23%
rubles ($10), - said the Prime
Minister. - People can not survive on
this money."
