A call for Britain to lead the fight
against drug taking in sport has been
made by athletics chief Arthur Gold.
He urged every British competitor
selected for next year's Olympics to
publicly agree to random testing.
Gold, President of thf European
Athletic Association, insisted that
anyone refusing to agree should not be
allowed to compfte in Los Angeles.
He told the Central Council for
Physical Recreation: "Health is more
important than winning. Sport is about
health and honesty. Drugs are unhfalthy
and dishonest."
