Police forces around the country say
Christmas was fairly quiet on the
roads, but there was no appreciable
drop in the number of Fatal road
accidents.
In the Metropolitan Police area eight
people died in road accidents between
Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. In
Greater Manchester there were two
deaths and a hundred injuries. 'dst
Midlands Police say the number of road
deaths was abost average for the
Christmas period.
But in Derbyshire where police launched
a campaign against drunken driving,
